Reward Bar
The Reward Bar is a powerful gamification tool designed to increase your Average Order Value (AOV). It displays a visual progress bar in the cart drawer, motivating customers to add more items to their cart to "unlock" various rewards like Free Shipping, Discounts, or Free Products.

1. Core Logic Settings
Before setting up your tiers, decide how the progress should be calculated:
Count the reward bar based on:
Total Value: The bar fills up based on the total dollar amount in the cart (Best for revenue growth).
Total Quantity: The bar fills up based on the number of items in the cart (Best for clearing inventory).
2. Understanding Reward Tiers
You can configure up to three progressive tiers. As the customer adds more to their cart, they move from Tier 1 to Tier 2, and finally to Tier 3.
Reward Types
For each tier, you can choose one of the following rewards:
Free Shipping: Incentivize completion by removing delivery costs.
Discount: Offer a price reduction (Requires a discount code created in Shopify).
Free Product: Give away specific items. When selected, a Product List option will appear for you to choose the eligible gifts.
Tier Configuration (Anatomy of a Tier)
Each of the 3 tiers contains the following settings:
Minimum Requirements: Set the "Goal" (Amount or Quantity) required to reach this tier.
Label: The name of the reward shown on the progress bar (e.g., "Free Gift" or "10% Off").
Progression Text: The message shown to the customer before they hit the goal.
Pro Tip: Use the placeholder
[min_amount]in your text. The system will automatically replace it with the remaining amount/quantity needed.Example: "Add
[min_amount]more to unlock Free Shipping!"
3. Dynamic Messaging & Placeholders
The Reward Bar uses a dynamic text system to keep customers engaged.
The [min_amount] Tag:
This is a smart variable. If your goal is $100 and the customer has $70 in their cart,
[min_amount]will automatically display $30. It works for both currency and item counts.
4. Visual Customization (Colors)
Match the Reward Bar to your store's branding using the Colors section:
Setting
Description
Background
The color of the container holding the reward bar.
Text
The color of the instructional labels and messages.
Background Tier
The "empty" color of the progress bar for upcoming tiers.
Success
The "filled" color of the bar as the customer progresses.
5. Setup Example (The "Power Trio")
A common high-converting setup:
Tier 1 ($50): Free Shipping.
Tier 2 ($100): 10% Discount.
Tier 3 ($150): Free Mystery Gift (Product List).
Best Practices
Incremental Goals: Space your tiers reasonably. If Tier 1 is $50, Tier 2 should be around $100.
High-Value Ending: Make Tier 3 a "Free Product" to create the strongest urge for the customer to complete the bar.
Contrast: Use a bright Success color (like Green or Orange) against a neutral background to make the progress feel rewarding.
